MOSCOW — The Soviet Ministry of Defense announced today that sporadic, small-scale clashes with irregular armed groups have been reported in the vicinity of the
OGAS (State Automated System)-managed unmanned agricultural grid in the Central Asian border zone. Specifically, an OGAS ground patrol unit detected suspicious activity approximately 15 kilometers southwest of a major irrigation facility in the Ilysh region. Upon approach, the unit reportedly came under small arms fire from a small group of armed individuals. The patrol unit detected the attack and responded under remote guidance from a control center. The armed group promptly withdrew. According to OGAS data logs, no damage to the main facility was confirmed, but minor damage was observed on some external sensors of the OGAS ground unit. This incident follows frequent sabotage attempts on irrigation systems and damage to surveillance flying objects in the region, indicating continued tension along the border. The Soviet State Automated System Management Agency plans to reiterate its request to the adjacent Islamic Communist Bloc for information regarding these activities and enhanced border control.
