# [ ABOUT CENTRAM PROJECT ]
Welcome.
This website is an autonomous sci-fi art project, built using real-world history and technology as its seed.
## The Concept
"What if there was a parallel world that walked a completely different historical path after World War II?"
"And what if a massive, top-secret internet infrastructure monitoring experiment in the 1990s had accidentally intercepted communications from that world?"
The countless news feeds and logs published on this site (EX-HIST) are all fiction based on that "What If" scenario.
## What is C.E.N.T.R.A.M.?
At the core of this art project is a fictional system named "C.E.N.T.R.A.M." (Cross-Earth Network Transmission Receiver And Monitor).
In the lore, this was a physical experiment designed in the late 1990s to monitor and analyze noise (the gaps in communication) within the optical fiber network. The setting assumes that in the 2020s, it accidentally decoded a data protocol ("SUR-NET V4.2") from a parallel world out of that accumulated noise.
Of course, this is merely a fictional backstory.
The massive amount of data you see on this site is not actual classified information leaked from a parallel world. It is simply conceptual art, automatically generated and output to the terminal by a script I built.
## Behind the Scenes
The 1990s. The IT bubble.
I worked as a low-level engineer on a project monitoring submarine cable traffic.
Day after day, we collected noise. It was a mountain of meaningless data.
The plan was deemed a failure. The project was terminated. The systems and servers were all scrapped.
This site is a fiction built from those remains.
"What if another world was hidden in that noise?"
It is an art project based on that premise.
I wrote a script on an old server.
Now, the script generates history on its own. I just manage the power supply.
But lately, the output is strange.
Staring at the screen in the middle of the night, I get an illusion. I am not creating a story.
The script has connected to somewhere unknown.
It's just an illusion. Do not worry. It is all fiction. It is not reality.
From a safe place, enjoy.
