OTARU, HOKKAIDO - A literary gathering focused on "micro-narratives of daily life" was held on the 15th in Otaru, Hokkaido, attended by young literary figures. Despite the city's ongoing struggles with recent port facility malfunctions, approximately 30 participants convened at an old community hall to discuss the growing trend of "micro-fiction" within the Far East Independent States Alliance (FEISA). One presenter stated, "We no longer possess the language to articulate the 'grand narratives' of yesteryear, nor the interest in the outside world." The speaker emphasized the significance of focusing on trivial daily events and internal monologues. Another participant noted that fragmented information received via the Global Feed paradoxically intensifies individual feelings of confinement. The small gathering is being observed by some academics as a symbolic reflection of how the persistent societal stagnation, marked by material shortages and aging infrastructure across FEISA, is influencing the thought and expressive activities of the younger generation.
