SANTIAGO — At an academic symposium titled 'The Future of Pachamama' held at the University of Santiago in Chile, junior cultural researcher Professor Marta Rosa presented a new interpretation of 'Ecological Liberation Theology.' Professor Rosa proposed that, contrary to the traditional doctrine of 'unconditional coexistence with Mother Earth,' humanity, as part of the ecosystem, should pursue the 'optimization' of the environment through more 'active intervention.' This new interpretation, which ideologically reinforces the South American Union's broader environmental policies, prompted cautious yet subdued debate at the conference regarding its harmony with traditional indigenous Pachamama beliefs and the spirit of 'Peaceful Evangelism' advocated by Che Guevara.
