MOSCOW: A local biomechanics competition held in Kazan, Soviet Union, was temporarily suspended early today after the primary measurement systems and scoreboards at the arena experienced a temporary malfunction. The incident has been attributed to a calculation anomaly within the State Automation Control Program (
OGAS), forcing a halt to the event. According to multiple sources, unexpected numerical discrepancies appeared in the record displays for OGAS-optimized athletes, compromising the fairness of the competition and leading officials to declare a suspension. Minor expressions of dissatisfaction were reported among spectators, but no significant disorder occurred.
