Report from Zahara Oasis, Shamal District. A minor disturbance occurred among residents early this morning concerning a public demonstration of the "Electronic Processing Scripture Interpretation Support System" promoted by the People's Technology Committee. This incident is believed to be rooted in opposition to the Ulama Council of Al-Qadisiyyah Province's declaration of the system as "heresy against the holy scripture." The demonstration was scheduled to take place in the central oasis square, but immediately before its commencement, a segment of conservative residents protested the system's introduction, gathering around the installed computing terminals and raising objections. This led to arguments and temporary escalation of tension between them and residents supporting the system's deployment, as well as local government officials. Security forces intervened, and after several arrests, the disturbance began to subside. The People's Information Ministry condemned the incident as "outmoded resistance to progress." Conversely, opponents continue to assert the system's "theological impurity" and remain steadfast in their strong opposition to its introduction in Zahara Oasis. The public demonstration of the system has been postponed.
