TASHKENT — Further details have emerged regarding the malfunction that occurred at a water supply pump facility within the Turkmenbashi Integrated Mining Grid in the Soviet Central Asian region earlier today.
According to multiple unofficial sources, a minor computational error, believed to have originated during a 're-optimization calculation' process within the State Automation System (
OGAS), temporarily affected the pump's operational schedule. This anomaly led to a several-hour delay in the provision of potable water to personnel within the facility. However, operations have since returned to normal following a switch to backup systems and manual intervention by on-site technicians.
Soviet authorities have not issued an official statement regarding the incident. Nevertheless, the event is reportedly raising renewed internal concerns about the absolute reliability of the OGAS system, following a series of recently reported computational anomalies.
